ArianeGroup launch planning at Kourou: Telespazio
France extends its key role

At the beginning of December 2024, ArianeGroup renewed its confidence in Telespazio France by extending until 2027 the contract for the planning of launches and maintenance of the Ariane Launch Assemblies (ELA) at the Guiana Space Centre.

Telespazio France has been contributing to ArianeGroup's operations in Kourou for more than 20 years. This contract reaffirms our role as a trusted operator in the field of access to space and the operation of space infrastructures. 

Long-standing expertise :

Since the early 1990s, operational planning for the Guiana Space Centre and ArianeGroup launches has been handled by Telespazio groupe, formerly Thomson CSF and then Alcatel. Since 2005, these activities have been the responsibility of Telespazio France.

 

Operational planning at the Guiana Space Centre :

On behalf of major players such as CNES, Arianespace, ArianeGroup and AVIO, our planning department has played a key role over the years in:


Launch planning campaign for the ARIANE 4, 5 and 6 launchers, Soyuz from 2011 to 2022 and VEGA from 2012 to 2023.

Planning of maintaining in operational conditions activities at the various launch sites associated with these launchers (ELA 2, 3, 4 for Ariane launchers, ELV for Vega and Vega-C launchers and ELS for Soyuz launchers).

Telespazio, a subsidiary of Thales and Leonardo groups, is the trusted French operator facilitating access to space and the exploitation of space infrastructures for its institutional customers, primarily CNES and MinArm. In the field of access to space, Telespazio has been operating and maintaining most of the electronic means at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guyana, for over 40 years on behalf of CNES and Arianespace. To this end, Telespazio France teams in Kourou played a crucial role in the preparation and during the launch of Ariane 6 FM1, ensuring that all systems were operational.
