Full Speed Ahead for Telespazio France as the New Contractor for the EU SATCOM Market Framework Contract

26 June 2024

In January 2024, Telespazio France was selected by the European Defence Agency (EDA) as the new contractor for the EU SatCom Market (ESM) framework contract for the next four years.

Contributing Members (participating nations, European entities , and European CSDP missions and operations) of this European programme benefit from a simple, fast, and privileged access to a unique catalogue of satellite communication services to support their security and defence missions in Europe and around the world.

For years, Telespazio has been acting as a trusted operator for the Defence community in France and in Europe, developing a portfolio that it is now available to EDA’s ESM framework contract beneficiaries. Accessible through the European Defence Agency, this offering includes satellite capacities, services, and associated equipment in C, Ku, Commercial, Ka, L, and UHF bands, as well as MILSATCOM equipment and a range of value-added auxiliary services and support through engineering and feasibility studies.

In addition to proven solutions, New Space players are entering the commercial market with innovative offerings and new capabilities in terms of performance, flexibility and mobility. To facilitate access to this variety of new solutions, Telespazio is proposing a meta-operator offering in the fields of telecommunications, Earth observation and space surveillance. This offer is based on digital platforms for link orchestration, data fusion and processing algorithms.
This innovative meta-operator capability is part of Telespazio France's strategy to support government and military customers engaged in critical EU CSDP and/or PPDR missions.

"Given the currently tense geopolitical context in Europe, we understand the crucial importance of ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining service continuity via the new EU SatCom Market framework agreement, while rapidly responding to end-users’ requirements. Motivated and highly committed, the Telespazio project team is always ready to respond to customer’s requests and provide quality services tailored to the specific needs of end-users engaged in security and defence missions. Always at the forefront of new technologies in the field of satellite communications, we are committed to supporting the European Defence Agency as a key player in SatCom capabilities for the benefit of EU SatCom Market Contributing Members. Together with the European Defence Agency's EU Satcom Market project team we are confident in our ability to meet and deliver on the challenges ahead of us." Giuseppe Marzilli, International Sales Coordination Manager at Telespazio S.p.A.
